In the UK, Rory McIlroy (39%) is the most favored golfer among those who follow the sport. In a close second place is Justin Rose (37%), however he didn’t play in the Ryder Cup this year. Lee Westwood (36%), Tommy Fleetwood (32%) and Ian Poulter (30%) make up the remaining top five.
There are a few Americans on our expanded list of favorites in the UK, including Tiger Woods (21%), who is absent from this year’s Cup, as well as Phil Mickelson (15%) and Dustin Johnson (14%).
In the US – without surprise – Woods is on top (39%), followed by Mickelson (37%), Jordan Spieth (27%), Team Europe’s McIlroy (26%) and Rickie Fowler (26%), who wasn’t present at this year’s event.
Other favorites in the US are Dustin Johnson (22%), Brooks Koepka (17%), Justin Thomas (16%), Jason Day (16%) and Sergio Garcia (14%).
